• This is why i love lolita: bonnets

One of my favourite accessories if not THE one, is the bonnet. this kind of hat works awesomely with classic, sweet or gothic lolita in many ways, there are different types of construction and materials. For me it’s like wearing a piece of history over your head,.as you saw in my historical beauty post, they were much used in the victorian and regency periods. Lolita brands usually have them and you can find the one to match your outfit in the best way.Angelic Pretty bonnetBaby the stars thine bright bonnets. full bonnet and with bunny yearsVictorian Maiden bonnetmary magdalene bonnetthere are lots of places who make historical bonnets too.all from victorian bonnetswe have of course Triple Fortune. one of the best brands out there, they make the most fantastic bonnets, they are expensive but totally worth it.

(i shall make another post for TF alone, they are too awesome.)i’ll leave you some pics of lovely ladies wearing bonnets. as you can tell, there are plenty of styles involved.Irene is wearing a chantilly bonnetKmbuuHimekaTakuraAmeliaand finally myself and my handmade bonnetsthere are tons of other examples and types as you can see, it works with many styles, classic, gothic, hime, pirate, sweet, i love to wear them specially in the cold seasons. i’ve wanted a straw bonnet for quite a long time now, maybe i’ll make one soon when i have time, i can never own too many bonnets! You can have them with feathers, with flowers, made out luxury fabrics, full of ribbons and lace, detailed or simple, half or full, with bunny ears or tons of frills, bonnets are fascintating and it will make an outfit stand out completely.Bonnets are not always the most easy thing to wear, more in the current century , and not all the girls are confident enough to use them because they drawn too much attention.Arm yourself with courage and go ahead, tie the ribbon around your neck and wear it proudly!
