• Spotted: like a fish out of the water

Saturday afternoons can be so boring when you have nothing to do, so i was sitting, having some Earl Gray and about to watch northanger abbey, when something came cross my mind, watching those ladies in their fantastic attires, bonnets, so ladylike and delicate, something i can truly relate to. How many times i’ve wished to live back then, to wear one of those amazing dresses! That is probably one of the reasons i dress in lolita, it allows me to feel like that beauty is not lost. Sometimes i wonder what people see when they spot a lolita in a gray crowd. Someone walking wearing plain jeans and a tshirt would just pass like any other in the street, but what happen when they see a girl covered in frills, colours, bows and details that the rest of the people don’t seemed to care anymore for? what do they think when they see weird socks, poofy skirts and complicated hairstyles instead of the regular converse, messy bun combo?Exotic prints, parasols. Like out of a fairy tale the everyday people sometimes, (almost always though) make us feel like a fish out of the water. Maybe we do not fit in such a background. The picture of a lolita about to cross the street, or just randomly walking in a dessert avenue, it’s one of the things i love to see the most.My fave kind of picture that one where out of the blue, you can see a spot of colour or elegance. They somehow make me happy, inspirited, confident and proud to be what i am. A lolita.

here are a few inspirational pictures from my collection. i do not own any of these

Fashion was not something you used to gain approval. Her passion was pure and unwavering. At the time, putting on clothes from Angelic Pretty and walking the streets was something of a spiritual battle, and she couldn’t lose, not now, not ever.

I agree with you about the photographs. My favorite kinds of lolita photographs are those where you don't expect to see a lolita at all. I love seeing them mingling with everyone in "normal" clothes, participating in their regular, every day activities. It gives your heart a little twist, and makes you smile.
